Q - Dear Annabelle,
Where do I find the courage to ask a girl out?
A - Dear Craig,
Look, the worst thatās going to happen is that sheās going to say Īnoā. (Get used to it.) There is NO one that Iāve ever met who has had everyone say Īyesā...I know that, at 18, when someone is perceived as Īspecialā that youād rather be nibbled to death by ducks than have HER say those dreaded worlds, or, worse yet, add some element of body language that just crushes you. You may as well know NOW, that ANY female worth the designation of LADY will say Īnoā in the kindest possible way, will NEVER add insult to injury and just MAY say the magic word....āyesā!
In most all things practice truly does make perfect and, if you can learn to take dating a little less seriously, then when you're a few years older, when dating leads to marriage, you will have had enough practice to carry off the procedure with a good deal of elanā.....(ladies LOVE that.) However, the only way to become Īpracticedā is to PRACTICE...and that means taking risks.......hey, you CAN do it. Thereās very little chance that you will die.......and you will actually grow from the experience.
Now, remember, young ladies like young gentlemen who look them in the eye, steadily, smile warmly, and TELL them how the evening is going to be spent. Young women LOVE being told how things are Īgoing to beā........donāt ask me Īhowā this worksā, I just know that it does.
Good luck.....and....be one of the good guys!
- Annabelle
