Q - Dear Annabelle,
Ok there is this guy that I like and my friends say he likes me too. We are really good friends and would die if anything happened to our relationship. We go to the movies all of the time, and I was just wondering if I should try to hold his hand or not. My friends say that he wanted to ask me out , but he is kind of shy wanted to know if he would shrug away from this or go for it.
A - Dear Jana,
Gee, what a refreshing change! Hand holding, eh? (I hope this is the start of a trend Îout thereâ...........you should SEE the stuff that comes across my desk!)
Now, to your question. Hereâs what used to work for me. When youâre walking together, if you Îaccidentallyâ bump against him a tad, and your hand just .....Îhappensâ to brush against his, your fingers just MIGHT Îbrush against each otherâ a little bit and, maybe youâd Îtripâ oh, slightly and heâd, being a gentleman, Îcatchâ you, and then, well, by then, after youâve both blushed and giggled a bit, (oh, you wanton creature, you), youâll have some better idea of whether he thinks this hand holding is a good idea. Hey, he might have had a nice mom and dad who told him to always respect ladies. Those guys make great Îcatchesâ BTW, theyâre really wonderful........and......well, trust me on this one!
Of course, hereâs another, more brazen approach. ãOh, Braaaad, (whatever), my hands are soooo cold.ä Hey, thereâs lots of ways of doing this...heck, half the fun is in the teasing. (Girls are always in charge here and itâs ever so much fun .......guys just THINK they now how to Îfishâ!) Just look him squarely, buy shyly, of course, in the eye, and blush a little....maybe a little smile? Hint: Guys LOVE being asked for help..... especially for something small.......they like being smiled at, appreciated....and FED.
Have fun...........!
- Annabelle
