Q - Dear Annabelle,
This one is kind of complex, so I'll try to explain it well. My best friend broke up with this
girl about 4 months ago. They were together for over a year. Before they broke up his girlfriend and myself started liking each other. She is perfect for me, yet I would never stab my friend in the back. However, now that they have broken up, she and I have become really good friends. The problem arises in two places, I have since fallen in love with her and I don't know if I should tell her. Also, we have since moved off to separate colleges. Should I tell her how I feel about her and risk my friendship with both my best friend and her? or should I sit on it. The real problem is I don't know if
she still likes me in the same manor. I would appreciate your insight. thanks
A - Dear Damian,
My vote is almost always to keep the Ībest friendā.....especially at 19. Girlfriends come and go, but our hearts donāt find Ībest friendsā easily. Now, IF you can run this by him and he hasnāt a problem with it, hey, go for it. Otherwise, just let it go. Best friends are around for all of your life, and you know from reading other letters how tenuous, especially at 19, boy/girl relationships can be.
