Q - Dear Annabelle, About 1 week ago I kinda kissed my best friend in the world . He is 16 also and we have been friends for like, 11 years. The thing is he has a girlfriend . I didn't kiss him , he kissed me . He went away last weekend to Michigan and he didn't get to talk to me or her . We were still talking last week, as far as I knew, but I missed school on that Friday. He was leaving and I hadn't seen him until today . He seems mad but I like him soo much and would never do anything to hurt him or ruin his relationship . He hasn't told her and I haven't said anything either. He's like my bro , but his girlfriend is keeping us apart?? HELP A - Dear Megan, It could be that your young man, even though youâve been friends for years, in thinking about the possible consequences of his behavior with you, is concerned for his relationship with this other girl.....guys have a sense of ethics too, you see. I wouldnât worry about it too greatly, and, when you have the opportunity, ask if somethingâs bothering him, Îcause youâve noticed that he seem Îdifferentâ toward you latelyâ. Knowing him for 11 years, (since you were 5??), doesnât prevent him, at 16, from seeing you in a new light, acting impetuously, (which 16 year olds have been known to do), and then, later regretting his actions, both for the implied disruption of his relationship with his girlfriend, and for what it means to have kissed his lifelong friend. Just relax and continue to be your sunny self...Iâm sure things will sort themselves out.
