Q - Dear Annabelle,
I like this guy, and I think he likes me back. But I'm not sure, and I don't know what to do to get his attention. I'm in agony. Can you help me?
A - Dear Daisy,
I know, at 16, things can seem very complicated, (even things that should be simple). In my years observing behavior, I have noticed that, when a teenage boy likes a girl he often acts contrary to what you think heād do......and thatās not exactly helpful for the girl. You might just try bringing a chocolate chip cookie, freshly baked, of course, to school and, at lunch, say that you brought an extra one for him to share. Teenage boys who like you will respond to the bait in a flash...and, since he has to be in close proximity to you to take the cookie, thatās a good time for you to mention that youāve noticed how good he is in math, (or whatever) and smile nicely.....while looking straight into his eyes. Now, if he DOES like you, (and what teenage boy could resist a homemade chocolate chip cookie and a sincere acknowledgement of his abilities), youāll soon find him following you about. Some things donāt change over the years!
- Annabelle
