I Really Like Her.

Q - Dear Annabelle,
Recently, I met a very cute girl, (Angie), in my work place and through my colleagues' help, I got hold of her phone number. The problem is, I'm too shy and whenever I call her, I would run out of topics to talk about with her. I really feel very depressed. Please help me. I really like her!

A - Dear Chan,

And, if you DIDNâT Îreally like herâ would it be easier to talk with her just as you do with all of your other friends? Or, are you Îshyâ with everyone? The self perception of Îshynessâ comes from a couple of things. One, which is actually somewhat within your control, is your belief that, if you DO speak up, youâll say something so heinous that sheâll think youâre a complete dork and never want to see or hear from you again. Now, some people just ARE more quiet than others. If that is the case with you, then you either must accept yourself as you are, or undergo a period of Îstretchingâ your Îselfâ muscle so you feel more at ease in a more Îexposedâ role in the world. Very little gets done by wallflowers in this world.
- Annabelle
