Q - Dear Annabelle,
Help! I am 27 years old and I do not want to work in an office anymore. My husband and I have been married 1 year on June 21, 1998. We greatly depend on my income and we're not sure what our options are when it comes to planning my pregnancy and work. I am a graduate from Auburn University in the field of Family Child Development.
I am a certified Parents As Teachers (Birth to 3 years of age), which is a national organization that promotes/emphasizes the importance of the early years and development. Therefore, I understand the importance of the early years & development. I want to stay at home and possibly work at home on the side. What are my options or how can I find them. Please HELP!!!!!! If you have any information please send immediately. I need some form of direction and currently have limited time to access this information. Any possible leads are welcomed and appreciated.
A - Dear Shannon,
Congratulations on your understanding of the incredible importance of being with your developing children. You might also consider holding off on having children until you and your husband have been married for several years. That's very important, too. You deserve growth and 'alone time' together before you re-focus your lives to parent young'uns.
(Remember, once you have children, you are NEVER alone again -- not ever ). This is one of life's 'crystal bridges', -- something you can only be told about, but never 'see' until you cross it. You can be 'told about' having children, but, much as you can describe to a single friend what it is like being married, that person can never really 'get it' until they, too, are married. Trust me on THIS one!
