Simply put, what psychotherapy does is help you sort out vital differences between the outer world and your inner world; differences between who you actually are, who you think you are, wish you were, or are afraid to become; differences between what you actually see and hear, and what you fear or hope it means.
No one ever gets all that 100% right, but the closer we come to 100%, the happier weâre likely to be.
A good therapist will know how to respect your concerns about delving into the past.
