Q - Dear Annabelle,
I am looking for alternatives to having people tap their plates and glasses when itās time for the bride and groom to kiss.
A - Dear Dale,
Aside from the bride and groom being in a semi-permanent lip-lock, I canāt think of a way to educate folk about your dislike of this behavior. Some behaviors seem to travel in certain social strata and, perhaps if most of the group is NOT doing something, those who have started this behavior will stop quite quickly. Perhaps, if you poll your friends who are attending, enough of them will be aware of your wish for an alternative to this behavior, that someone will not only provide you with a solution, but enough people will know of your feelings that the behavior will either not start or will be stopped immediately upon becoming evident. I have been to weddings in virtually all social strata and this behavior is strictly situation dependent. Sometimes things just seem to take on a life of their own. Do try having the groomsmen and bridesmaids Īget the word outā and see what comes back to you.
