Q - Dear Annabelle,
My husband has a female friend that he has had since high school but she is an overbearing person and makes me feel very uncomfortable. She has not always been in our life but, for the past year, she is in our life constantly. She is always calling him and asking him to come over and help her and asking him over for lunch. I could go on and on. This has become so bad that I have left my husband once, but I love him and I want our marriage to work but he can't see why it upsets me so much. We have been married for 17 years and the last year has been pure hell for me!

These kinds of things are very stressful on a marriage...and you know that. This kind of realtionship, where one of the partners is alone in social situations absent the other partner, is a sure-fire formulae for trouble in a marriage. Your husband has a situation that suits him very well......and itās causing you, understandably, a good deal of stress.
There is more here than Iām being told and I seriously recommend that you spend some time, preferably as a couple, with a good marriage counselor. I can offer you nothing more concrete at this time.
