Q - Dear Annabelle,
My sister-in-law's bridal shower is next month. I received an invitation and did not RSVP to attend. I refuseto go because when her brother and I were planning our wedding she informed us that she could not be in it or even come to it because she had already planned to be in a wedding that same day. My in-laws are
both upset that I'm not going. I don't want to attend the wedding either, but my husband is in the wedding and he is the one his parents complain to, not me.
He doesn't care whether I go or not because he knows how strongly I feel about this, although he doesn't feel the same way. What is your advice concerning this matter?
A - Dear Jocelyn,
You know, occasionally life presents us with wonderful opportunities to act from our better selves....to act Îgrown upâ and to behave decently. Get over your pique.....get on with your life.....go to the party and have a wonderful time. In life we NEVER act badly just because we think some else has. Deal with it....ok? And smile.....what can being a terrific person hurt?
