Q - Dear Annabelle,
My ex-wife and I have been back in contact, (phone calls and letters, we live in different states), for the first time in over a year. Our divorce was final May of '97. I'm looking for inspiration from other couples who have gotten back together after a divorce of separation. Articles/websites/books? Do you have any suggestions?
I would truly love to reunite with her and live in her home state, ( one reason why we split, was that at the time I just couldn't see myself living there). Anyway, it's a long story......I love her so much and know she still loves me.....I'm just taking baby steps here trying to rekindle trust and make clear my desire and commitment without scaring her off. Thanks in advance for any reply.
A - Dear Thomas,
Well it sounds as if you are going about things in an appropriate way. You might also consider the services of a good marriage counselor, (when and if you DO end of in Īthe same stateā), because itās a pretty fair certainty that youāre not wanting to live with her, (wherever she IS), wasnāt the only friction between the two of you.
Knowing what you DO want is just about as valuable as knowing what you DONāT want, so, since you both love each other, perhaps you can learn to communicate your concerns more clearly.
Iām sending a recommendation about a book dealing with the different communication styles between men and women. You can order them from http://www.amazon.com
