Love AND Kids?

Submitted by: Charlotte

Q - Dear Annabelle,
My relationship going downhill on account of "your 5 year old who is giving me stress and that is why our relationship and sex life is up to no good"

He has 2 sons - aged 9 and 7. I tried to discipline my son more but I feel it is not fair that he gets blamed. I want to know what suggestions do you have on these points and what should I do.... love him or leave him?

Please help. I have never been married.

A - Dear Charlotte,

My heart goes out to you.....you need a *hug* too, but this guy has GOT to go! (And you KNOW it!!) Having a guy in your bed just isnât worth whatâs happening with your son and his development. I know, youâd like to have a guy around. Hey, your munchkin would like a Îdaddyâ too, but this fellow does NOT sound like a good bet.

Can you, for the next thirteen years -- (yikes!) -- do what is necessary to see that your son has GOOD role models in life? That means finding good, positive, males to share your time with and, if that is not forthcoming, just foregoing your private life? (Boy, that sounds like a dumb question). You son has just a FEW years to get started, (again,) on the path to positive adulthood..........that goal is not likely to be achieved if youâre hanging around some guy who isn't in his best interests.

Yes, I know it can get lonely in bed at night, but, if you make the wrong choices now youâll be looking at the results of them for all of your sonâs life......and for the lives of HIS children. (Not having a sexual relationship outside of marriage would be a really good place to start).

I donât know what the AIDS statistics are in your part of the African continent are, but you WOULD like to be around to see your grandchildren......wouldnât you?

See if you can find a parent support group. It really DOES Îtake a villageâ to, not only raise good, sound children, but to keep ourselves warm and cozy too. You have the strength within you. Now, go find it!
