Q - Dear Annabelle,
Why is it that I am so young but feel that I am so in love ?
A - Dear Kristina,
You feel that you are Îso in loveâ because at eighteen youâre SUPPOSED to feel
Îthat wayâ. Thatâs what being eighteen is all about. As long as you donât mistake it for the Îreal thingâ, i.e., the sort of ÎIâm-all-grown-up-and-can-get-married-now-and-have-a- babyâ, sort of feeling, youâll come through it all right.
Enjoy the experience, DONâT get sexually involved, DO actually get to know the person, (not to mention getting to know yourself a little better), and ENJOY being eighteen. Itâs a wonderful, fun time of life. Youâll be a lot happier with yourself if you do things in the, (in my never-to-be-humble-opinion), Îrightâ order, i.e., get a GOOD education, a GOOD job, (invest your $$ wisely), develop yourself into a more mature adult, and THEN, when youâre in your mid-to-late 20âs think of finding a life mate.
Life is wonderful, more so if you avoid burdening yourself with the ÎOh, why did I EVER do thatâsâ that are so prevalent out there. (Course, if you never make ANY mistakes how will you ever learn from experience?) Anyway, have a wonderful time, be careful, and enjoy.
- Annabelle
