She Didn't Want 'Real'.

Submitted by: Mystified Man

Q - Dear Annabelle,
Recently I met a terrific woman via an internet dating service. We had been corresponding for several weeks, passing e-mail through the service and using pen names. Things were going well. We exchanged pictures and it seemed like we were on the way somewhere. As a show of good faith, I decided to open up first and gave her my real name and e-mail address and my home phone number to show that I really was a for-real single guy. I haven't heard from her since. What happened?

A - Dear Mystified Man,
What this 'terrific woman' wanted was to correspond -- ONLY via email -- and to enjoy whatever her fantasy was as to what it would REALLY be like to meet and to know how it would be to be with the 'terrific guy' YOU are. By telling her who you really are -- that is, by becoming 'real', you threatened to reduce her fantasies to mere reality -- a hard league to play in...... so she ran -- she didn't want what you wanted anyway. Fantasy is for those who can't deal with reality.
