I Told Him A False Name.

Submitted by: Raashi

Q - Dear Annabelle,
I have known a guy for one and a half years. I never used to talk to him much. Actually, he is a family friend of my friend. (I can't tell my friend that because she and i are not exactly great buddies.) So what i did was, I started to write to this guy through e-mails, but told him a false name and all. He replied but I hated to tell him all those lies so I confessed who I was, since he knew me well.

He was angry and afterwards he was not interested in a relationship, but didn't mind being friends. I never said that I loved him or even that I liked him and, after hearing his reply, I knew that there was no point telling him anything. We write to each other normally. Recently he has gone abroad and, for 5 days now, he hasn't written anything. I wrote him twice but now I am just waiting for him to write.

I really love him and I want to just be close to him in anyway possible can you suggest something????? Please do so soon!

A - Dear Raashi,

Some things you just have to Īlet goā......and this is one of them. In your culture you have great romantic stories of unrequited love, and those can become ingrained into such a belief system that oneās life.....as yours is.....can become disrupted. At 20, it is safer to Īwantā someone who does not return your feelings, than it is to find someone who would reciprocate your interest.

As cruel as it may sound, you are doing yourself no good in pursuit of him.
