I'm Being Turned Down. Why?

Submitted by: Mystified Man

Q - Dear Annabelle,
What makes a lady on the service decline getting to know someone via email, other than in obvious cases (age etc...)?

A - Dear R,
A couple of possibilities come to mind........some gentlemen, and ladies, are simply so good looking that's it's quite off-putting to others who evidently automatically assume that they're stuck up and 'would't like me anyway, so I'll reject them first'........ that's neither fair nor reasonable, it just is. Other people don't really realize that, by limiting their 'yesses' to people who exactly meet their real (or imagined) criteria, they are missing out on people who would be wonderful new friends. After all, we don't marry or make lovers of everyone we meet, and new friends are always a delight. Wouldn't it be nice if more people thought of these services as ways of finding new and interesting acquaintances first, and maybe lovers and permanent mates later?
