Could Turn Into Something Real?

Submitted by: Becky

Q - Dear Annabelle,
Is this new guy I'm dating could turn into something real and serious or should it just be for fun but run the other way?

A - Dear Becky,

What would be the rush? At 27, you may have forgotten that just getting to know someone can take weeks, (or months),....and nothing Īreal or seriousā would eventuate, (I would hope), without the initial getting-to-know-you stage anyway. Part of the problem with relationships breaking up is that people donāt take the long and leisurely time really necessary to just get to KNOW someone. Youāve had the experience, Iām sure, when you were in school and exposed to someone on a regular basis, of one day, seeing them in a Īnew lightā........and a friendship Īcatches fireā at that point.

If the early steps of friendly bonding are foregone in the need to match up quickly, then the structure that would create a lasting friendship..or something more...hasnāt been put in place. Take your time...enjoy the trip.
