Q - Dear Annabelle,
My ex-boyfriend wants to get back with me. He did some bad stuff to me before, but I also didnât treat him right. He wants to get back together. I know I really love him and he really loves me. He is all I can think about. Should I give our relationship another chance?

Maybe you have Îloveâ confused with lust....love, real love, is NOT doing Îbad stuffâ to each other......itâs more about caring how the other person is feeling, not discharging your own anxiety onto another person. That your ex wants to get back together may just indicate that you ring his chimes the way no one else does...that wouldnât be at all unusual. Neuroses can mesh just fine, yet donât make for very good long term relationships. Or, it could mean that he just didnât do very well in finding another femme in the time after he left you. The situation youâre describing is a very immature one and, at 25, youâre in the age group, if not in the cultural group, where marriage is a distinct possibility.
You might want to give consideration to the kind of guy that would make good husband material...and this relationship sounds more like the stuff of soap operas, and not of the long term dynamic love of which good marriages are made. Give it some thought.
