Q - Dear Annabelle,
I have recently found out that the men at my university have given me the name "Sticky Vicky". I feel very offended by this. I have only slept with 26 men, since the beginning of the university year. Do you think this is too many, and do you feel they have any justification in making this statement?
A - Dear Vicky,
Oops.....if what you're telling me is true, have you EVER got a problem!....and it's NOT that you're 'sleeping' with them -- that's the strangest euphemism of all time! (It is many, many years since my own days at University, and I still remember the nickname given to one of the girls in my class, "Passaround Patty".....these things just don't go away). Men can boff all the tarts they want....women CAN'T..PERIOD!!
Now, that you are free with your sexual favors is one thing, but, your nickname is now going to be yours for life....whereEVER you meet up with anyone who has EVER heard of you.
There are reasons for sexual discretion, and this is absolutely one of the best. You ask if I feel that 26 men is 'too many' since the beginning of the term. Well, you evidently don't think so, why would my thoughts on this matter?
Men in this age group are only too thrilled to find a willing female. Whether or no it is subsequently fair, (and, frankly I think it is NOT), ladies of easy virtue seldom find themselves well thought of in the outside world. While great courtesans of old had fabulous reputations and wealthy lovers, the path you are taking may not serve you well.
You must have an amazing need for sexual contact. Either it means a great deal, or it means very little. Either way, you have gotten yourself into a dreadful pickle........and it's highly unlikely that, if and when you meet someone with whom you would like to establish a long term, or possibly permanent relationship, he will be able to withstand the ribbing he would take as the fiancee' of the 'good time who was had by all'.
There may be a way out of this, or at least through it, but I'd have to know a good deal more about you.
- Annabelle
