I Want To Run Away From Home.

Submitted by: Deborah

Q - Dear Annabelle,
When I get up everyday I want to run away from home. I am 34 and have my own business and a family and a home. What is wrong with me?

A - Dear Deborah,

At 34, your feelings are not at all unusual.......youāre just stressed, AND are feeling overwhelmed. Youād like to Ībreak outā, regroup and start again. As I said, this is not at all uncommon........at one time or another almost everyone has these feelings. Keep in mind, however, as George Carlin once so perceptively noted, ĪWherever you go....there YOU are!ä There IS no Īthereā there, itās always a HERE.......(read the ĪRules for Being Humanā.)

You do have a couple of options, one of which is to find a good psychologist and explore these feelings. You might also put up a large piece of paper with a line down the middle. On one side, write, Īwhat my life is nowā, on the other, what Iād like my life to beā..........and fill them out with whatever thoughts come to you....day OR night. (Night, just before sleeping, or, in the morning just as we wake up, provides a time for the subconscious to Īfloatā things into the barely conscious mind that can otherwise be repressed.....keep a note pad by the bed.)

We all have things weād like to be doing.....and arenāt. If you can more clearly see what it is you want to move TOWARD, you will relieve some of the stress and the feelings of wanting to run AWAY.
