I Have Asked Her To Marry Me.

Submitted by: Brian

Q - Dear Annabelle,
I have known this woman for about 12 years and we have never really dated. I have since fallen in love with this person but do not feel she is in love with me. I have asked her to marry me and she seems indecisive ....no Îyesâ or Înoâ answer. We have never been intimate. We are the best of friends and I feel the 2 of us are very compatible. I guess I want to know if I should continue to wait for this unforeseen answer or try to move on. It has been several months without knowing how she really feels about me.

A - Dear Brian,

This may sound like an odd question, but is there any chance that you could be depressed? When I was going over what you wrote and cleaning up the punctuation and stuff, the feelings that youâre possible depressed became quite strong. If YOU are depressed, it would follow that she, too, may be depressed, which would account for HER non committal response. Marriage is, probably, a tad different than you might think, and it mightn't be the worst idea for you to get yourself to a good psychologist to uncover just how it is that you seem unclear about the passions and joys of a well filled life.

If you really ARE Îin loveâ with this woman, talking with a professional at some length about your direction might be of great help to you.

- Annabelle
