I Met An Incredible Man.

Submitted by: Mercedes

Q - Dear Annabelle,
I've been dating the same guy for over 1 year now however, I am going to University & I met an incredible man there. We talk once in awhile in class, nothing more. But last Thursday he asked me to go shopping after class & then he came over, we drank a few drinks and then I took him out to a local sports bar. He is new to this city and doesn't know that many people. I had a wonderful time, but I haven't "really" talked to him since we've been out. Absolutely nothing happened, but I really would like to talk to him. I don't know what I think I want to say, but I can't seem to get him out of my mind. I'm only 22 years old, I'm not exactly married, what should I do???? Please help. Thanks for your time.

A - Dear Mercedes,

At 22, youāre too young for marriage and are still in the Īletās see whatās out thereā stage. ĪStagesā are maturity yardsticks and you cannot rush through them.....youāll do yourself an injury if you donāt complete each one before moving on to the next. Now, if you find that, in the next several years, you cannot Īsettle downā with one fellow, then thereās something left over from your childhood that needs working on. Rushing through stages too quickly and trying to settle down to soon can leave the heart yearning for Īmoreā at a time when oneās focus would be , properly one oneās mate.

Meet, and learn about, all the people you can, then, when youāve had your fill of that activity, you will be mature enough to settle on just one person. That way, when temptation beckons, as it always does, you will have the knowledge that Īthis is just one more guy and Iāve been there and done thatā.......thatās how marriages weather the temptations faced by each of the partners.

Of course youāre Īnot exactly marriedā..marriage will come in your late 20ās or early 30ās. NOW is for learning and experimenting in whatās good and appropriate for YOU.
