Why Would He React This Way?

Q - Dear Annabelle,
A couple months ago I met a really nice guy. We've spent a lot of time talking on the phone and through email. We've only gone out two times since we met because we're both busy with work and he lives 30 minutes away from me. Last Wednesday he asked me if I would like to go out on Friday and I said yes. Friday morning he called me and said that something came up at work and he was going to have to meet me later then we planned. That was fine because I still wanted to see him. Well, by about 9:00 that night I realized that we probably weren't going to be going out. So I called his voice mail and left what I though was a funny message. I said that I was sitting at home looking beautiful and that I hoped when he was done at work that he would remember that and have an urge to climb the highest mountain to still see me that night. About thirty minutes later he called me back and was completely out of sorts. He was practically yelling at me and telling me that he didn't know when he was going to be done. I didn't know what to say because I was so surprised by his reaction. He said "thanks a lot" very sarcastically and hung up the phone on me. I haven't heard from him since.

Do you have any idea why someone would react like that and why he hasn't bothered to call me back since? I don't think my message was out of line or anything but what do you think? I'm not planning on calling him back because I think it was extremely rude of him to just hang up on me like that without an explanation. Plus if I did call him I'd just be trying to get an apology out of him. Anyway, any advice will be helpful. Thank you.

A - Dear Alissa,

Hot tip: You just got saved a whole lot of trouble with this fellow. From what youâve told me, you did nothing wrong.........and thereâs something Îfunnyâ about his behavior...and I donât mean Îfunny ha-haâ. Count your blessings that you found out now. These things happen. Give this guy a wiiiiiide berth.
