Asking After Being Turned Down..

Submitted by: Ethan

Q - Dear Annabelle,
I took this girl to a play on the first date and we had a great time. However, due to my busy school schedule, I was not able to ask her out for the summer. Now, I have more time and, when I called her up again to ask if she would go on a date, she graciously turned me down.

I still like her very much, however, I don't know if I should ask her again. I don't give up easily but I don't know if I can chase something that I can never catch.

A - Dear Ethan,

Young ladies are far happier if, when they have a nice time with a fellow, the young man continues to stay in contact....even if he canāt commit more time right away, an occasional phone call would be a really good idea. She may have been miffed and felt neglected. YOU know the reason for your behavior, but to

HER it may have felt like rejection....and that can hurt.

I suggest that you consider taking her some flowers and talking a bit.....nice and pleasant young men of good character arenāt easy to come by and you may reignite her interest.
- Annabelle
