Q - Dear Annabelle,
There is a stereotype about girls with tattoos as being either topless dancers, sluts or biker babes. What is your views on this, because I met this very nice girl who I am starting to fall in love with yet she has a tatoo on her tailbone. It is hard for me to accept it since I am a very conservative guy and have always thought of this stereotype.
I think that this is affecting my relationship with her. Although she knows how I feel about the tattoo, I have not mentioned it to anyone for fear of losing her. It does however bother me and now I am just keeping it inside. Like I said, I love her and I don't want to lose her so please help me learn how to accept it. Thanks. Also, if
you can please not display my email address for fear of her noticing me writing this.
A - Dear R,
Well, in the somewhat, Īoldenā days, a tatoo would have raised eyebrows. Some young ladies nowadays do seem to be having small tattoos added to, (usually unseen), parts of their bodies. I suppose thereās no harm, and, since I know several lovely ladies who have decorated themselves as well, perhaps things have changed a bit. The only thing I wonder is.......when they get older and their skin is no longer youthful.....well, do the butterflies and roses wrinkle too?
I have seen women with visible tattoos and, to me, that does look tacky, so you have to be the best judge of her character now that youāve known her a short while.
By the way, if sheās such a Īnice girlā, and youāve known her such a short time, just how IS it that youāre so familiar with her tailbone?
- Annabelle
